Kforce Senior Build and Release Engineer in San Diego, California

Kforce is looking for a Senior Build and Release Engineer, specializing in DevOps, to join our client in San Diego, California (CA).   • Review daily builds for environmental vs. team driven issues needing resolution and coordinating with scrum teams to resolve issues

  • Develop tools to automate problem isolation

  • Improve the build process / infrastructure in coordination with global common ops agendas / tooling

  • Improve/optimize builds for each of the components keeping them on the latest tooling / latest internal process recommendations

  • Manage / orchestrate branching / versioning / patching events for the teams both in GIT repositories and pipelines (CI / CD)

  • Manage / propagate required/necessary education to the teams regarding process changes

  • Take the lead in role in maintaining and improving continuous integration infrastructure for the software development team

  • Build release and deploy software to production - releases, hot fixes and minor changes (continuous integration already in place)

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Field: Computer Science, Engineering, etc.

  • 5 years of experience in DevOps, build & release or configuration management

  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and test automation systems such as Jenkins or TeamCity

  • Experience with Java build/test tooling (Maven, Gradle, Gradle Plugins, JaCoCo / Cobertura, TestNG, Junit, Mockito / PowerMockito, Cucmber)

  • Experience with .NET build tooling (nant, MS build, nuget)

  • Experience with Artifactory

  • Experience with JavaScript build / test tooling (grunt, npm, yarn, Sencha Cmd, Webpack, PhantomJS, etc.)

  • Experience with scripting languages (groovy, power shell, etc.)

  • Experience with Configuration Management tools, such as: Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, etc.

  • Experience managing GIT repositories and workflows, including branching, tagging, and releasing

  • Experience with Java

  • Ability to debug failing tests

  • Ability to diagnose technical issues around builds and DevOps infrastructure

  • Ability to automate parsing of logs for key diagnostic phrases

  • Ability to automate / enhance DevOps infrastructure to reduce manual steps

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to approach problems in a flexible and creative manner

  • Successful completion of background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, and SS verification
